North Carolina Father Allegedly Kills Baby
WAKE COUNTY, N.C. – A 25-year-old North Carolina father is in jail without bond after deputies say he murdered his own baby girl — and it took police almost two full years to finally lock him up.
Christopher David Gonzales was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder in the brutal death of his infant daughter, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Deputies say the horror happened on October 28, 2024, when the tiny baby was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries. She fought for her life but died just days later from her injuries.
Sheriff Willie Rowe released a statement Tuesday, saying:
“On behalf of the entire agency, we extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the victim’s family and all impacted. I want to thank the WCSO investigators who continued to work this case to provide answers and make way for justice for even the youngest victims in our community.”
Gonzales is being held without bond. His next court date is set for May 13.
