The crash occurred on Sheffield Road just outside Mocksville in Davie County, has brought an outpouring of support for the boys’ mother, Paola Antonetti. Noah died at the scene of the crash, while Elijah passed away later that night at a local hospital. Noah would have turned 11 on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026.

According to reports from WXII 12 News, the boys were passengers in a vehicle traveling to a Sunday church service when the crash happened. The winding, rural road is known for its curves, though full details of the cause—such as weather, speed, or other factors—have not been publicly released by authorities as the investigation continues.

‘I Just Want to Hug My Babies’

In an exclusive and deeply moving interview with WXII 12, Paola Antonetti opened up about her profound grief while holding her sons’ favorite plush toys. Sobbing uncontrollably, the mother described the boys as the center of her world and shared tender memories to ensure their legacy lives on.

“I just want to hug my babies. I just want to love my babies,” Antonetti said, her voice breaking with emotion.

She painted a vivid picture of Noah’s kind-hearted nature:

“There’s not one person that they can say that Noah was never nice to them, cared for them. He would open the door for you if something happened at school. He would make sure that everything’s okay. He would pray for me every night.”

Of Elijah, she recalled his protective spirit and big dreams:

“Elijah, he would protect you and he would love you. And he would make sure, like if someone said something to you that he didn’t like, he would try his best to fix it. He did not care. He wanted to be a police officer.”

She expressed the universal pain no parent should face:

“I feel like no mom should ever have to feel that, you know, you just wake up one morning and you just love on your kids and then they leave in less than an hour and they’re gone. I don’t think anybody should ever feel that kind of pain.”

Antonetti added,

“They were only 10 and 9. They had a whole life ahead of them. I shouldn’t have to bury my children. I shouldn’t have to.”
