On Friday, Iredell District Court Judge Carole A. Hicks sentenced the 34-year-old Salisbury man on the misdemeanor stalking charge.

Police warrants show Harrington engaged in a campaign that included calling the officer’s employer with a false complaint, blasting her on Facebook, tracking down her co-workers for personal information, and repeatedly posting that she was cheating with someone from another agency — all allegedly done to damage her, her family, and her career.

Harrington had screamed that the whole case was an “attack on journalism.” The judge didn’t buy it.

He was sentenced to a suspended sentence of 60 days in jail and placed on 24 months of supervised probation.
