Babysitter accused of burning toddler
The North Carolina Beat has identified the babysitter in a disturbing case involving a toddler suffering severe burns while under her care.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, March 1, was revealed in a viral TikTok video shared by the boy’s aunt, therealchampayned, on March 4, shedding light on the horrifying circumstances surrounding the incident, alleging that the babysitter sat the toddler in boiling water.
In the emotional video, Sky’s aunt recounted the events that led to the toddler’s devastating injuries. Sky, a 1-year-old child, had been left in the care of Amesha Johnson, a babysitter who watched Sky previously. Sky’s mother, Bri, 21, had gone out for a dinner with friends, unaware that her son would suffer such a traumatic ordeal.
“Saturday, he was at her house and while my sister was out she received a call that something had happened to my nephew,” she said. “No details, no sense of emergency, just that she needed to come.
The babysitter, Amesha Johnson, who resides in High Point, NC, allegedly explained to Bri that she was giving Sky a bath and briefly left, in which Sky had adjusted the water dial, leading to him being scalded.
However, Sky’s aunt raised doubts about the babysitter’s explanation. According to the aunt, Amesha failed to call 911 immediately after the incident and instead called Bri to come pick up her son.
The aunt described the extent of Sky’s injuries in the video, revealing that the burns affected both of his legs, including his knees, and extended slightly above them.
In addition to the leg injuries, Sky’s right arm was also severely burned. The family is now questioning whether the injuries were truly accidental or the result of intentional harm. The aunt even alleged that Amesha had confessed to others that the scalding incident was deliberate and had laughed about it.
