A 29-year-old Florida woman, Veronica Cline, has been charged after allegedly poisoning her child’s father with Raid roach killer spray, according to the police.
According to court documents, a Volusia County deputy responded to a call for assault and battery at approximately 4:26 a.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the unidentified father of Cline’s child.
Cline’s child’s father informed the deputy that their child had told him that Cline was on her way home from a bar. While on her way home, Cline requested that her child’s father serve her an alcoholic drink so they could drink together when she arrived, according to court documents.
The child’s father told the deputies that he had consumed two drinks and started feeling unwell. He said he vomited for 30 minutes before he called the police, according to court documents. The child’s father informed the deputy that Cline mixed “Raid Roach Spray into his last two drinks,” as stated in the court documents.
The document also stated that Cline expressed her desire to poison their child as well. Cline’s child’s father provided an audio recording of Cline confessing to putting the roach spray in his beverage, according to the court document.
Veronica Cline is currently being held without bail at the Volusia County Branch Jail, as indicated by online jail records.
