A video obtained by The North Carolina Beat shows a naked man on top of a transmission power tower in Winston-Salem, North Carolina last week.
According to online reports, the man was spotted off Peters Creek Parkway, and several agencies responded after 911 received calls about a naked man climbing a Duke Energy transmission tower. Duke Energy officials had to shut off the power in the area, resulting in blackouts in several residential areas and businesses.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they determined that the man was struggling with mental health issues. As a result, Winston-Salem’s Crisis Negotiation Team and the Behavioral Evaluation and Response Team were dispatched to the scene.

The man spent three and a half hours on top of the transmission tower before he began descending and safely reached the ground. Officers quickly took the unidentified man to a mental health center for treatment.
