Twin Brothers Found Dead on Bell Mountain: Family Seeks Answers Amid Mystery

The mysterious deaths of 19-year-old twin brothers, Qaadir Malik Lewis and Naazir Rahim Lewis, have left their family and community searching for answers. The twins were discovered dead atop Bell Mountain on March 8, 2025, just a day after missing a scheduled flight to Boston, according to NBC News.

On the morning of March 8, hikers stumbled upon the bodies of the Lewis twins around 11:05 a.m. and contacted authorities. Responding deputies from the Towns County Sheriff’s Office found both brothers had suffered gunshot wounds, which prompted them to call in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

Qaadir Malik Lewis and Naazir Rahim Lewis were 19-year-old twin brothers from Lawrenceville, Georgia, known for their close bond and protective nature.

Initial reports suggested the possibility of a murder-suicide, but the twins’ family strongly disputes this theory. Their uncle, Rahim Brawner, expressed disbelief, mentioning the brothers’ close bond and protective nature toward each other.

“They’re very protective of each other. They love each other. I couldn’t imagine them hurting each other because I’ve never seen them get into a fistfight before,” said Brawner.

Many questions remain unanswered, including why the twins were on Bell Mountain, a remote area 90 miles from their hometown of Lawrenceville. Their family insists they had no known connections to the area and were not avid hikers.

Their aunt, Yasmin Brawner, also voiced skepticism about the circumstances, questioning how they ended up in the mountains when they had no history of visiting such locations.

Qaadir and Naazir had originally planned to fly to Boston on March 7 at 7 a.m. to visit friends. However, they missed their flight, and their plane tickets were later found in their wallets. This discovery has deepened the mystery, as it remains unclear why they ended up traveling in the opposite direction instead of making alternative arrangements.

Autopsies have been completed, but the official causes of death are still pending additional forensic testing. The GBI has not yet made a final ruling, and the investigation is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the final moments of the twins’ lives.

The Lewis family has started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral expenses and to demand a thorough investigation. They have also launched the hashtag #JusticeForQaadirAndNaazir on social media in hopes of spreading awareness and uncovering new information.

  1. I don’t feel like this was murder suicide because their family would know if that was something to be concerted about and they don’t agree!!! There needs to be an investigation!!
