A 25-year-old woman from Greenville, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with felony child abuse after police say she fed her 10-month-old child cow’s milk.Â
Ty-Tionaha Daceus was taken into custody on Saturday, January 4, 2025, after an investigation revealed troubling details regarding her care for the infant. According to an arrest warrant obtained by WCTI 12, Daceus allegedly fed her child cow’s milk instead of breast milk or infant formula, leading to dangerously low sodium levels and potential long-term deficiencies.
Unsafe Environment Allegations
In addition to the alleged neglect, police accuse Daceus of failing to provide a safe living environment for her child. The warrant alleges she did not provide a crib or take her child for regular medical check-ups. These conditions reportedly contributed to the infant sustaining a fractured skull injury.
The incident in the warrant occurred on October 1, 2024. Daceus was officially charged with Felony Negligent Child Abuse with Serious Bodily Injury and was placed under a $10,000 secured bond.
Court documents show that Daceus was able to post bail on Wednesday morning, January 8, 2025.
How is is child abuse to feed cow’s milk to a 10 month old child? They are eating other foods/baby food by then as well. My children got 2% milk after they were 7-8 months. Their doctor knew and they were fine.
Ok, so what was wrong with cow’s milk being served.
Exactly they just wanna make something up when that’s what was done before formula was even made in labs
