A 77-year-old Louisiana school bus driver has been charged after being caught on video choking a student, according to Fox Live 8.
The video was recorded by another student and shows 77-year-old Miles Jenkins slapping and choking the student.
The alleged assault occurred on a First Student school bus on Monday, October 30th.
In the video, Jenkins can be seen pushing the Marrero Middle School student after the student tries to leave his seat. At one point, Jenkins is seen slapping the boy across his face, prompting the student to fight back and push the elderly bus driver.
In response, Jenkins could be seen forcefully pushing the young boy against the bus window while appearing to choke him.
Jenkins was charged with simple battery and was granted a $500 bond. However, he was later released without having to pay bond due to the overcrowding in the jail.
He later resigned from his position as a school bus driver.
