A driver is presumed dead after a vehicle crashed through the end of the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier on Saturday morning.
Authorities received a report at 6:52 a.m. on Saturday morning regarding a car that drove off the end of the pier at 15th street in the Oceanfront area. Virginia Beach police spokesperson Jude Brenya stated that the vehicle drove onto the pier and continued until it reached the edge, ultimately plunging into the water.
“So it’s somewhere at the end of the pier right now,” Brenya said.
A video circulating on social media captures a car with its headlights on, making its way towards the edge of the pier. The brake lights flicker as the vehicle plunges into the water.
