Six stabbed in downtown Raleigh early Saturday morning after a group fight erupted on Fayetteville Street.
RALEIGH, N.C. —Six people were rushed to the hospital early Saturday morning after a violent group fight erupted along the 200 block of Fayetteville Street — one of the city’s busiest nightlife strips — leaving multiple victims stabbed and bleeding in the street.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers were called around 12:18 a.m. to the scene after reports of a large fight spiraling out of control. When they arrived — multiple adults were suffering from stab wounds.
All six victims were transported to nearby hospitals with serious injuries. Officials say, thankfully, none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
Sources say the violence appears to have stemmed from a heated altercation between two groups, though what led up to the confrontation remains unclear. Several men and women were detained at the scene as police continue to piece together exactly what happened.
