The Patio Nightclub shooting suspect is in custody after a deadly shooting left one man dead and another seriously injured.
RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police say they’ve finally tracked down the man accused of turning a night out into a deadly shooting at Patio Nightclub.
Authorities confirmed that 35-year-old Giovanny Hernandez-Jaramillo, now the primary suspect in the March 22, 2026 shooting, was arrested early Friday morning all the way in Houston. The U.S. Marshals, the FBI, Houston Police, and Homeland Security all teamed up to bring him in.
Investigators say Hernandez-Jaramillo is facing serious charges, including murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Police say he didn’t act alone — at least not when it came to getting out of dodge.
A day before his arrest, officers in Raleigh took 52-year-old Martha Renee Jones into custody. She’s now charged with felony accessory after the fact, accused of helping Hernandez-Jaramillo flee the state after the shooting.
WHAT HAPPENED INSIDE PATIO NIGHTCLUB?
According to investigators, the shooting happened at 1:27 a.m. inside Patio Nightclub, located along New Bern Avenue in Southeast Raleigh.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire and walked into a nightmare scene — two men shot and fighting for their lives.
Both victims were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but one of them — 33-year-old Jorge Dorantes Carranza — didn’t make it.
The second victim is still recovering from serious injuries, according to the latest police updates.
Authorities are still asking anyone with information to come forward as the investigation remains active.
