Bart Diguglielmo Shot Dead in North Lauderdale Walmart Parking Lot Dispute – Self-Defense Claimed
A woman shot and killed 62-year-old Army veteran Bart Diguglielmo in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter at 7900 West McNab Road just before 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) confirms the fatal shooting stemmed from a verbal argument over a parking space. Multiple videos — including witness cellphone footage and a Tesla dashcam — show the confrontation unfolding in broad daylight.
According to detailed accounts of the footage, the woman exits her vehicle holding a phone in one hand and a gun in the other. She briefly interacts with people in a nearby white car. Diguglielmo approaches, and the argument heats up.
She points the gun at him and repeatedly tells him to “walk away.” As he advances, she backs up and walks around another parked car to create distance. Diguglielmo follows her around the vehicle anyway.
She fires one shot and Diguglielmo collapses.
The woman remained at the scene, cooperated with deputies, and claimed she acted in self-defense.
She was detained for questioning but has not been publicly identified or charged as of Thursday. BSO is reviewing all evidence before presenting the case to the Broward State Attorney’s Office.
Victim: Army Veteran and Father Remembered
Bart Diguglielmo, a Lauderhill resident and retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant originally from New Jersey, died at Broward Health Medical Center after being transported with a gunshot wound.
Family members are heartbroken. His daughter Amanda told media her father was a “good man” and pushed back against rumors suggesting anything beyond the parking dispute.
“Nobody deserves to lose their life over a parking spot,” she said emotionally.
She described him as a good Christian father who was not the aggressor some online narratives claimed.
BSO says the woman is cooperating fully.
