A NCCU track athlete charged with rape is now behind bars after authorities say the 19-year-old is accused of sexually assaulting a teammate.
DURHAM, N.C. – A 19-year-old student-athlete was arrested and accused of raping one of his own teammates.
Authorities say Alan Webster III, a sophomore track and field athlete from Fuquay-Varina, was taken into custody Wednesday and hit with a felony charge of second-degree forcible rape. According to jail records, he’s now sitting in the Durham County Jail under a $300,000 secured bond.
According to court documents, the alleged assault dates back to January 2026.
But officials have not released full details about where the incident happened or the exact circumstances.
Webster made his first court appearance shortly after his arrest. As of Thursday afternoon, April 16, he remained behind bars.
