Mother Seeks Answers in Disappearance of Greensboro Son
Tamika Little is pleading for answers after her son, Laequan Little (Missing, Last Seen With “Friend”), mysteriously vanished on December 30, 2024, in Greensboro, North Carolina. What began as a routine day has quickly spiraled into a perplexing and heartbreaking search for the 26-year-old father.
Timeline of Events Leading to Laequanโs Disappearance
Tamika told The North Carolina Beat that the last time she spoke to her son was on December 30. She said around 6 a.m., she texted him and asked him to pick up his daughter so she wouldnโt be late for work. Later that afternoon, at 4 p.m., Laequan texted her backโ and that was the last time she had direct communication with her son.
By 8 p.m., Tamika sent another text to Laequan, but he didnโt respond. Hours later, at around 3 a.m. on December 31, she received a call from the mother of Laequanโs child.
โShe said, โTamika, I have BoyBoy on the phone. Heโs supposed to be coming to get Tootie [his daughter], but he keeps talking real fast, saying, Iโm in the grass, Iโm in the grass,โโ Tamika recounted.
Tamika told The North Carolina Beat that Laqeuan’s child’s mother could not understand anything Laqeuan was saying. She explained that when his child’s mother clicked back over, Laqeuan was no longer on the other line.
“WE TRIED CALLING HIS PHONE BACK AND GOT NOTHING,” TAMIKA SAID. “I TOLD HER I HAD HIS LOCATIONS, SO I WOULD GO OUT THERE.”
The Search Begins
Determined to find her son, Tamika tracked his phoneโs location to the Reserve at Bridford apartments on Bridford Parkway in Greensboro.
Upon arrival, she found the gates locked and could not access the complex. She called his phone again, only to hear it go straight to voicemail. After circling nearby apartments for clues, still nothing.
“I went home not thinking the worst,” Tamika said. “I get up for work and he’s still not home.
Tamika said that while she was at work, she kept receiving messages from Laqeuan’s child’s mother, asking if she had talked to Laqeuan yet. Tamika replied that she hadn’t.
“She said she’s worried, but me, I’m still not thinking anything bad has happened because he does this sometimes, but comes home maybe an hour or two after I have left,” Tamika told The North Carolina Beat.
Next, Tamika said she sent him a text, but it didnโt go through. Around 4 p.m., she mentioned that she still hadnโt heard from her son, which was unlike him since he usually called or texted her. At this point, Tamika said she was starting to worry.
โItโs been 24 hours, and I havenโt talked to my son. He wouldnโt just leave his daughter like this,โ she said.
At 5 p.m. on Dec. 31, Tamika says she went back to Bridford Parkway to look for her son after getting off work, but still found nothing. That night, Tamika said that she, along with a friend who accompanied her, went to the Greensboro Police Department and filed a missing person’s report.
New Information
It has since been revealed that Laqeuan was last with a so-called friend named Ralph Tillman, pictured below.
Tamika said she learned that while her son was with Tillman at the Reserve at Bridford on Dec. 31, Tillman allegedly kept telling Laqeuan not to leave, even as Laqeuan repeatedly told him that he needed to go get his daughter. Tamika said Tillman told her that by the time he went to the bathroom and came back, Laqeuan was gone.
On Thursday, January 2, a friend of Laequan went to the Reserve at Bridford to speak with management to see if there was any video footage of Laequan or his car. Tamika said she was told the manager pulled up video from around the time she received the call from Laqeuan’s child’s mother, and could see a car that resembled Laqeuan’s 2009 black Honda Civic.
“She said the video showed his car riding through the grass of the apartment complex very, very, very slowly,” Tamika recounted what Laequan’s friend told her. “A couple minutes later, the car was coming back through that same grass, and by that time, the car had gone out of the camera’s sight.”
Tamika said that around 5 a.m., her son’s car left the apartment complex. She has since turned the information over to the investigators handling her son’s case.
