Liberty NC Man Punches Child Over Knife Claim, Video Sparks Outrage
A shocking video circulating on social media shows a Liberty NC man punching a child in the face, allegedly after the boy pulled a knife on him. The incident, which occurred earlier Saturday on Ferguson Creek Drive, has sparked public outrage and questions over how local law enforcement handled the situation.
The video, sent to The North Carolina Beat, shows a young boy sitting in the hatchback of a small SUV before standing up and appearing to put something in his pocket. Moments later, he grabs a piece of paper.
Seconds later, Antoine Lamont Johnson, a resident of Liberty, North Carolina, who claims he’s the “Prophet of The Streets”, walks outside the home and approaches the child. The footage becomes blurry at the moment the child appears to reach into his pocket and gesture something toward Johnson’s face. The video then shows Johnson punching the boy in the face and throwing him to the ground.

She then could be heard telling the child to “put the knife down.” Afterward, Johnson, the woman, and the second child go inside the home, leaving the young boy outside near the SUV.

In a follow-up video, Antoine Lamont Johnson tries to defend his actions, stating he told Guilford County Sheriff’s deputies that the child had put a knife to his throat and that he “had to restrain somebody.”
According to sources, a neighbour recorded the incident and provided the video. It’s alleged that deputies from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene but refused to watch the video evidence but it’s unclear if the video was offered to them for viewing.

I agree with @ROME! I guess people would rather the young man commit a crime! I’m sure that punch humbled him in some way. It probably saved his future!
