Word On The Curb…Southern soul artist King South, who tells everybody that they must not know about his tongue in his music also did not tell y’all that he illegally possessed a firearm and sexually abused a man with a champagne bottle.
Southern Lausane III was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on his birthday for being a felon in possession of a firearm. But the gun charge arose from a sexual assault case in Montgomery that is still pending in state court.
It seems like King South’s music has been flopping because he hasn’t been making enough money to hire his own attorney. Instead, he told the court that he was poor and was appointed a court-appointed attorney.

Last June, King South was picked up by the authorities after a man came forward and said that the southern soul artist had invited him to a residence in the 8000 block of Ansley Trace, near Somerset Drive, and tricked him. The unidentified victim stated that King South held a gun to his head and ordered him to get naked. He said that after he got undressed, King South sexually abused him using a champagne bottle.
The victim told the police that King South threatened him and said he would release the photos of the assault on social media. At the time, King South was charged and booked in the Montgomery County Detention Center under a $90,000 bond. He later bonded out.
According to court documents obtained by The North Carolina Beat, the victim first reported the incident in March 2022,and local authorities had been surveilling the artist since then. According to court documents, King South and the victim had met two days earlier, during which King South agreed to promote his beverage brand. After the meeting, the victim sent King South naked photos, which brought a big smile to King South’s face.
Two days later, King South lied to the victim and claimed that he wanted them to come over and bartend for a social gathering at his home. When the victim arrived, he found out that there was no such gathering. That’s when King South turned demonic and committed this heinous sexual crime.
King South originally pleaded not guilty to but later changed his plea to guilty.
This 10-year prison sentence is only for the gun that he used in the sexual assault case in state court, and the federal authorities took over the gun charge. However, the sexual abuse case is still pending.
