Before she allegedly opened fire on two attorneys outside the old Wake County Courthouse Friday morning, Gwendolyn White had been fighting in court to enforce orders tied to a detailed Motion for Contempt she filed years earlier against the Rolesville Police Department.
According to White’s pro-se motion, the department willfully ignored multiple Superior Court orders to turn over body-worn camera footage from March 3, 2021 — footage White claims contains a “Hacking – Confession Video” in which neighbor Michelle Larscheid allegedly describes how her husband Craig hacked White’s home security systems, could see inside her home and hear phone conversations, and that Rolesville officers in grey uniforms helped cover up crimes against White and her family.
The North Carolina Beat was able to locate a family photo of Michelle and Craig, along with their children.
White also alleges the department deleted or destroyed evidence, including over 430 emails she sent flagging the footage as vital, and that the plaintiff’s own attorney made stunning admissions in open court that the domestic violence complaints against White were fabricated lies created by Craig Larscheid, Michelle Larscheid, and builder Ryan Perry of ICG Homes to frame her.
Yesterday’s shooting of Fox Rothschild attorneys Mary K. Harris and Jeffrey R. Whitley — who were representing the Town of Rolesville in the long-running civil case — has thrust this exact dispute back into the spotlight.
White, 57, now faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder. The attorneys survived after surgery.
According to the motion, Superior Court Judge A. Graham Shirley II signed orders on February 8, 17, and 24, 2022, and Judge Vince M. Rozier, Jr. signed an order on February 24, 2022.
These orders required the Rolesville Police Department to produce:
- All three officers’ bodycam videos from the March 3, 2021 incident (Officer Jose Apodaca, Lt. Courtney Williams, and one other officer).
- All 911 call logs (approximately 196 calls) from December 31, 2019, to the present for White’s address at 733 Strathwood Way, Rolesville, NC 27571, along with supplemental notes from officers on scene.
- The materials were to be delivered to the Superior Court Justice Center (10th Floor) for in-camera review or directly to White.
White alleges Rolesville PD Chief David Simmons and the department “egregiously ignored and dully have just blandly refused” to comply. She claims Lt. Williams told her on February 24, 2022, outside her home:
“Ms. White, Sheriff Simmons isn’t ever going to release that video; even if GOD & Country asked him too… and it’s differently never going to be given to you, a Judge or anyone else in Wake County Courts for evidence… that video will never see the light of day, period.”
The motion states the department provided only a one-page “Transmittal of Law Enforcement Agency Recording” form claiming the videos were “purged,” with no supporting documentation or proof that anyone attempted to retrieve them from the IT service company or body-worn camera vendor.
The Alleged “Hacking Confession” on Bodycam
White’s motion describes the March 3, 2021 bodycam footage as capturing statements from Michelle Larscheid (plaintiff Craig Larscheid’s wife) allegedly admitting or describing:
- That Craig hacked White’s personal accounts, home security (ADT, CPI, Spectrum), IP address, passwords, and could hear both sides of phone conversations and see inside the home.
- That Rolesville Police officers in grey uniforms had been helping cover up criminal activities against White, her 87-year-old mother, and family since they moved in next door on December 31, 2019.
- Details of break-ins (allegedly over three dozen times using a master key from builder Ryan Perry of ICG Homes that was never turned over at closing), theft of $25,000 in cashier’s checks plus $1,158 cash, property damage and destruction totaling over $43,621, and other alleged acts (poisoning drinks/food/plants, pouring chemicals in the yard).
White further alleges a neighbor stated on one of the bodycams that the Larscheids and Perry gave Craig her personal banking information, SSN, DOB, and passcodes.
Plaintiff’s Own Attorney Allegedly Admitted the Cases Against White Were Fabricated
One of the most interesting parts of White’s motion is that it details what White claims plaintiff’s attorney P. Feldman (Smith Debnam law firm) told Judge David Baker on January 3, 2022. According to the filing, the attorney allegedly admitted under oath or in court that:
- The 3/3/21 Hacking-Confession Video exists and she has seen the entire thing; her clients (Craig & Michelle Larscheid and Ryan Perry) are visually in it.
- Her clients lied to 6 or 7 Domestic Violence judges since March 5, 2021.
- ALL complaints and Facebook posts with negative commentary against White were created by Craig, Michelle, and Ryan Perry to give the appearance of wrongdoing — White did not create any of them.
- White is “100% innocent.”
- Her clients stole, damaged, and destroyed over $43,621 worth of White’s property and belongings.
- Her clients broke into the home of the handicapped and disabled (including White’s elderly mother), stole items, poisoned drinks/food/plants, and poured chemicals in the yard.
- The clients hate White and were “setting her up” with fabricated evidence before certain judges who would “have their back.”
- Michelle Larscheid stated on the bodycam that Rolesville PD has been covering up their crimes.
Allegations of Evidence Destruction and Ongoing Misconduct
The motion contains serious accusations against Rolesville PD leadership and staff:
- Deleting or allowing deletion of over 430 emails White sent to Chief Simmons, Capt. Haynes, Lt. Williams, Officer Apodaca, and others starting March 4, 2021 (65 to Simmons, 65 to Haynes, 267 to Williams, etc.), plus Verizon texts, pictures, screenshots, and CPI videos.
- A female officer allegedly admitting in the lobby on March 7, 2022, that the department was deleting White’s AOL and Verizon files and suggesting White hand over her phone to be “reset to original iPhone Manufactured Setting and wipe it clean.”
- Alleged use of hacked home systems or police technology for surveillance inside White’s home (bedrooms, bathrooms, shower, toilet, closet, living room, kitchen, garage), with the officer confirming it was “of course” the Rolesville PD.
- Chief Simmons allowing personal friendships with builder Ryan Perry (ICG Homes located at 4020 Wake Forest Road) and the Larscheid to take precedence over court orders and the law.
- Refusal to appear or fully comply with WebEx hearings and orders despite clear judicial directives.
White requested daily fines of $5,000 until compliance, arrest of Chief Simmons (and later Capt. Haynes and Lt. Williams), SBI or District Attorney investigation, dismissal of all DV cases against her, a protective order against the Larscheid and Perry, Rule 11 sanctions, reimbursement of $43,621, and other relief under NCGS Chapter 5A (Civil Contempt), Chapter 132 public records laws, and Rules of Civil Procedure.
The litigation continued for years. White filed additional contempt motions (including around August 2025), sought enforcement of old orders, and pursued a new trial after the case was apparently dismissed or resolved against her in early 2026.
A hearing on her motion for a new trial was underway Friday morning when she allegedly became belligerent, was removed, retrieved a firearm from her vehicle, and shot Harris and Whitley outside the courthouse.
Just hours before Friday’s hearing, White posted on social media about returning to Wake County Court at 10 a.m. In the post, she claimed that during previous proceedings, it was stated in open court that Rolesville Police Chief David Simmons had ordered the deletion of evidence related to more than 11 crimes against her family, including what she described as a double attempted murder and an acid attack on her 90-year-old mother, Elleen Abrom White, last year.
Rolesville officials have maintained in related proceedings that footage was handled according to department policy (deleted after 30 days if not flagged as evidence) and that some recovery efforts occurred later.
White has consistently argued the department never provided full proof of deletion or full compliant production of the specific “hacking confession” material she believes exists and remains in custody.
The motion that White sent us was not signed at the time but according to court records, she did file the motion on March 18, 2022.
