An East Carolina University (ECU) student in Greenville, North Carolina, is going viral on TikTok after posting a video where she claims she is facing expulsion for confronting and allegedly assaulting a man she says is a known campus rapist.
The student, identified as Faith Pellini, says she spat on and “beat up” the man during an off-campus party after learning of multiple sexual assault allegations against him. In the viral video, Pellini reads an emotional letter she wrote to the university, accusing ECU of ignoring repeated reports of sexual misconduct.
“MY VOICE WILL NOT BE SILENCED BY THIS SCHOOL EVEN IN THE FACE OF EXPULSION,” Pellini declared. “MY VOICE IS MY POWER. I WILL BE THE VOICE FOR THE BEAUTIFUL BRAVE WOMEN THAT THE [ACCUSED] TRIED TO SILENCE THROUGH HIS ACTIONS.”

In her TikTok, Pellini named at least seven sexual assault victims, all involving Black female students. While the victims’ names were not clearly audible in the video, Pellini emphasized that these women bravely came forward—and were allegedly ignored by university officials.
“ALL OF THESE BEAUTIFUL BLACK WOMEN HAVE HAD THEIR VOICES SILENCED BY THIS PREDOMINANTLY WHITE INSTITUTION,” Pellini said.
One of the alleged victims, U’Neek Burch, has since come forward to local reporters to corroborate Pellini’s claims. Burch says she was assaulted at an off-campus party in October 2024 and formally reported the incident to ECU—but no meaningful action was taken.
“I WAS ASSAULTED…I REPORTED MY ASSAULT TO ECU AND NOTHING REALLY OCCURRED BASED OFF ME REPORTING IT,” Burch stated. “MY FRIEND, FAITH, SHE TOOK ACTIONS INTO HER OWN HANDS.”

Burch added that ECU issued a no-contact directive between her and the accused, but that no criminal charges have been filed.
In a statement, ECU said they could not comment on individual student cases due to federal student privacy laws (FERPA). However, they emphasized that when a sexual assault report is filed, university staff are responsible for following up with the victim, assessing safety and well-being, and offering support services such as counseling.
