Concord Woman Arrested After Stabbing Niece to Death on New Year’s Eve
An argument turned deadly early New Year’s Eve morning when a North Carolina woman allegedly stabbed her 22-year-old niece, resulting in the young woman’s death. Sunsharay Coulbourne, 41, of Concord, is now in custody and facing murder charges.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home on Coventry Commons Avenue at approximately 12:48 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Jonae Collins with fatal stab wounds.
Collins was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect in Custody
Authorities arrested Coulbourne and charged her with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing. She is being held at the Cabarrus County Jail without bond as the investigation continues.
