A Birmingham, Alabama woman reported missing Thursday is dead after police said she was found in the woods, burning.

Investigators in Birmingham say on Thursday, June 2, a missing alert was issued for 31-year-old Jermiera Ivory Fowler, who was last seen around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, in the 500 block of 41st Street North.

Fowler was driving a white Nissan Versa Note, according to investigators.

According to investigators, Fowler was reportedly going to meet someone to purchase from Facebook Marketplace and was never seen or heard from again. On Thursday, around 9 pm, investigators said they found Fowler’s body in the 200 block of Sellers Road, burning after calls came in about the burning body.

Investigators say they can’t confirm that Fowler was actually going to meet someone to make a Facebook Market purchase.

A medical examiner also concluded that Fowler suffered a gunshot wound.

No arrest have been made.
