WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Leinbach Park shooting victims identified as Erubey Romero Medina, 17, and Daniel Jimenez Millian, 16, in the deadly Winston-Salem shooting. The two teens lost their lives in the deadly mass shooting earlier this week.

The incident, which began as a planned fight among juveniles and quickly escalated into gunfire.

Leinbach Park Shooting Victims Identified: What Happened at Leinbach Park?

According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, officers responded to reports of a fight in progress around 9:52 a.m., Monday, at Leinbach Park, located on Sally Kirk Road near Robinhood Road. While en route, dispatchers received information that shots had been fired. Upon arrival, responders found multiple gunshot victims in the parking lot and inside the park area.

Erubey Romero Medina was discovered in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on scene.

Daniel Jimenez Millian was found farther inside the park with a gunshot wound and also died at the scene.

Five additional victims—all teenagers—were treated for gunshot wounds ranging from minor to critical injuries. They include a 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl, a 17-year-old girl, an 18-year-old male, and a 19-year-old female. Their names have not been released due to their ages and ongoing investigation.

Daniel Jimenez Millian’s family released a statement expressing their profound grief:

“We are heartbroken to share the unexpected loss of our beloved brother Daniel Jimenez Milian. Our family is grieving a tragedy that has changed our lives forever. He was a loving, caring person who always put family first, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled.”

A GoFundMe has been established to support funeral expenses.
