Fantasia father blasts Kendall Taylor after a public Houston re-proposal, accusing him of manipulation and raising questions about missing money.
Just when folks were still swooning over that emotional Valentine’s Day moment in Houston, drama has entered the chat — and it’s coming straight from Fantasia’s own father.
The father of North Carolina native and Grammy Award-winning singer Fantasia Barrino is speaking out — loudly — after her husband Kendall Taylor got down on one knee and asked if he could continue being her husband, gifting her an 11-carat diamond ring in front of a packed out crowd.
What looked like a fairy-tale moment to fans has now turned into a something else.
“FAKE CRY BULL CRAP…”
Fantasia’s father, Joseph Barrino, took to social media Sunday afternoon and did NOT hold back.
In a Facebook post, Joseph called the emotional display a stunt and accused Kendall of being manipulative.
“Fake Cry Bull Crap…hes giving back some of the missing money the fired financial committe says hes probably stole…that they couldn’t account for…y’all pray for fantasia! I hate this for her!”
Joseph later went live on Facebook and doubled down, alleging that a financial accountant in Fantasia’s camp was fired after money allegedly went missing — and hinted that Kendall was at the center of it.
“I was just told a week or so ago by a financial person that was fired from her camp that that they were running up on him [Kendall] because their was money missing,” Joseph said in his video. “And there was no paper trail on his part, the other folk got fired but he got her [the financial person] fired.”
Those are serious allegations.
Joseph made it clear he felt obligated as a father to “shout it out,” saying he would be less of a dad if he stayed silent.
He also acknowledged the possibility that Fantasia might cut him off for speaking publicly.
“If she don’t talk to me because I’m trying to help her, that’s God, she gon have to deal with God for that,” Joseph said. “There’s too many celebrities who have went down because of the same thing. You say you love God but you put a man before him.”
“WRONG DEAL…”
Joseph also referenced comments Kendall made during the proposal, where he reportedly said Fantasia “chose him.” Joseph argued that biblically, it should have been the other way around.
He even claimed the situation had been prophesied by Louis Farrakhan, calling it a “wrong deal but she went against it.”
In another emotional moment, Joseph addressed critics in the comments who accused him of creating bad publicity.
“You can pray, pray, pray, and if that person is going agaisnt your prayer or going against anything that anybody say, you can pray until you turn blue and they are not really gonna pray until they back up or face down, when they have come taking all of your assets away that God give you, so listen, I’m not going against my daughter but if God in you don’t show you manipulation and when your man go openly and say you chose him….theres something wrong with that picture.”
He urged fans to pray for his daughter.
“If y’all think I’m wrong, just call me a crying father,” Joseph said.
Joseph also spotted Fantasia watching his live and told her that she was “sleeping with the enemy.”
“Salute. Salute. How you doing everybody? I gotta make something right. If you could just give me a moment. For eleven years, many anniversaries, many birthdays—don’t make me cry, I gotta be quick—and many Valentine’s, I share my angel with you. So, give me some grace and share my wife [back with me]. Just for a minute. Just for a minute.”
Then he turned toward Fantasia and got more emotional.
“Hallelujah. God has been so good in our lives. We fought through so much. We prayed through so much. We fasted through so much. We’re about to walk into a brand new home. But, I can’t walk into a home with you. I gotta make something right. And all the beauty that we’ve experienced over the years, we got a blind spot.”
At that point, Kendall presented Fantasia with an 11-carat diamond ring — explaining that each carat represented one year of their marriage.
He reflected on how their relationship started fast and intentional.
“In 2014, we sat and we had a conversation, after three weeks of knowing each other. And we said, ‘What if we get married?’ And we did it. […] We did it. […] But the one thing that’s missing in our life, is we talked about it, we did it. But I didn’t properly propose. One thing that I’ve learned as a man is that a good woman desires a public proposal, but a Godly woman, she deserves one.”
And he continued:
“For 11 years, you woke up every morning and you chose me. For 11 years, you’ve been an incredible mother to our children. For 11 years, we fast and we prayed. So, I’mma give you a carat for every year that you stayed by my side.”
Fantasia appeared emotional as the crowd cheered.
Fantasia and Kendall met in North Carolina in July 2015. After just three weeks of dating, they tied the knot in a courthouse ceremony. At the time, Fantasia made it clear she knew what she wanted — and believed she found it.
She said he was everything she had written down on her list — including being a man who loved her, her children, and God.
Later, the couple celebrated again with a second ceremony on a yacht.
And now, what was supposed to be a romantic “make it right” gesture has turned into a very public family divide — with her father calling it manipulation and Kendall calling it redemption.

As her father, you should have gone to her and him. Not do this publicly. If you’re so concerned, you should be praying and fasting, not putting her on blast to millions. You said in the beginning of this video that you heard this info from someone so, you and that someone should have gone to her and him.
Don’t quote the Bible if you’re not going to follow it. You’re wrong for airing out her business and not going to her first. You say your praying for your daughter and you’re concerned but yet you turn to social media. This is all kind of wrong.
Thank you for bringing this to light.
