The 80-year-old man, identified as Jon, is still alive. However, it appears that he put a whooping on his estranged wife, 62-year-old Christina Pasqualetto, as she can be seen in her mugshot with two black eyes.
According to the police, just after midnight on Wednesday, they responded to a home regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had suffered a gunshot wound to his wrist. He was treated at the scene, taken to a local hospital, and then airlifted to a facility in the Phoenix area.

Police said Christina told them that she did not want her husband to divorce her. Investigators said Christina started arguing about the divorce with her husband while he was lying in bed. When Jon informed Christina of his desire to proceed with the divorce, investigators said that Christina retrieved a pistol and shot him while he was still lying down.
Investigators said Jon was able to knock Christina down to the point where the gun fell out of her hand before he attempted to escape.
During that time the victim did strike the suspect with his hands and elbows to escape the situation, police said.
Christina’s estranged husband was eventually able to escape. He ran to a neighbor’s home and called 911.
Police said Christina and Jon had been in the middle of a divorce and had been separated for several months.
Christina is charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault. She also faces a count each of forgery and theft after her estranged husband said she had stolen checks and forged a check about a week before for $10,000 and cashed it.
