A 14-year-old Alabama teenager is accused of murdering his 17-year-old brother. Afterward, he allegedly dragged the body into the woods and compiled a “hit list” that included other family members he intended to kill and bury with the help of a friend.

On Wednesday, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 2:20 p.m. from a father who reported finding his missing 17-year-old son dead on the family’s property.

According to Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas, the father informed investigators that his 17-year-old son had been missing since Monday but had not reported his son’s disappearance to law enforcement.

The father told investigators that he arrived home around 7:30 p.m.on Monday, October 2nd, and asked where his son was, but nobody had an answer. The next day, the father was called to Pike County High School to pick up his 14-year-old son because school officials said the teen was upset because his older brother was missing, according to the sheriff.

When the father and his son returned home, they searched the property for the 17-year-old. That’s when the father discovered his son’s lifeless body on the rear side of the family’s property. During the investigation, Sheriff Thomas stated that the 14-year-old confided in a friend at school, revealing that he had killed his brother.

He then asked his friend to help him murder the rest of the family and help him bury their bodies, Thomas said.

Sheriff Thomas said that the friend of the 14-year-old told them that the 14-year-old had a hit list in his book bag, containing the names of family members he wanted to kill. Additionally, the friend said the teen made statements about wanting to carry out a school shooting at Pike County High School.

When the police searched the teen’s book bag, they found that hit list of family members. Sheriff Thomas said he interviewed the teenager, who then confessed to shooting his 17-year-old brother while he was sitting on the couch.

He stated his brother got up and staggered out of the residence and out the back door, where he then fell at the bottom o the steps, Sheriff Thomas said. He dragged him about 60 yards to the back of the property.

No one else was at home at the time of the murder.

The investigation is ongoing, and no motive has been revealed yet.

The 14-year-old was arrested and charged with Murder as a Juvenile and is currently being held in a Juvenile Detention Center.
