A high school teacher at West Johnston High School in Johnston County, North Carolina, has been arrested and charged in connection with the sexual assault of a student, according to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Joshua David Johnson, 38, who served as the chorus teacher at West Johnston High, was taken into custody after an investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct with a student on school grounds.
The Sheriff’s Office reported receiving the initial complaint on Thursday of last week, prompting an immediate investigation. Following interviews and evidence collection, detectives charged Johnson with two counts of indecent liberties with a student.
Johnson, a resident of Benson, North Carolina, is currently being held at the Johnston County Jail under a $75,000 secured bond.
