Authorities in Warren County have arrested 24-year-old Desmond Hargrove, who is accused of murdering his 16-year-old girlfriend, Sulyrica Evans.
According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home on Collins Road in Norlina early Saturday morning, April 26, 2025, around 4:30 a.m., after receiving reports of a shooting. Officers arrived at the scene around and found Sulyrica Evans dead from a gunshot wound.

Investigators quickly identified Desmond Hargrove as the prime suspect. He has since been charged with first-degree murder. On Tuesday, authorities said they captured Hargrove near his home.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Why is he not charged with statutory charges as well? A 24 years old man dating a 16 year old child…who allowed that?
She did she of consent is 16. If her parents didn’t have anything to say about it he didn’t do anything wrong by dating her.
