Salisbury Gas Line Explosion Injures 11 Firefighters During House Fire Response
SALISBURY, N.C. –A house fire suddenly turned into a terrifying explosion that left 11 firefighters injured Monday.

According to the Salisbury Fire Department, crews were dispatched to a home on Laurel Street just before 5 p.m. Firefighters arrived in under four minutes and were immediately met with heavy flames pouring from the back of the house.
Officials say crews moved in fast, launching an offensive attack to knock down the fire — but moments later, a gas line inside the home exploded, turning the scene into pure chaos.
The blast injured 11 firefighters, all of whom were rushed to the hospital. Thankfully, authorities say their injuries are non-life-threatening.
Two other people were also hurt in the explosion, though their conditions have not been released as of publication.
The cause of the fire and explosion remains under investigation.
