Raleigh woman accused of stealing identity to file fake insurance claim worth over two thousand dollars

Investigators say a Raleigh woman used stolen personal information and fake medical records to try and cash in on a bogus $2,700 Allstate insurance claim.

RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA – A Raleigh woman is in big trouble after she seemingly played insurance games with somebody else’s name — and got caught.

According to the North Carolina Department of Insurance Criminal Investigations Division, 23-year-old Sha-Niaya Fae Davis of Middle Oaks Drive was arrested and charged with Identity Theft, Insurance Fraud, and Attempt to Obtain Property by False Pretense.

Court documents allege that Davis unlawfully obtained another person’s personal information and used it to pull off an insurance scam. Investigators say Davis pretended to be a woman named Snelling while filing a claim with Allstate Insurance, submitting fake medical records to make it look like she received treatment after a supposed accident.

Authorities say those medical visits never happened — but Davis allegedly tried to make Allstate pay anyway.
