Police in Oxford have arrested one suspect and are actively searching for another after a shooting left two teens hospitalized on Thursday morning. The shooting occurred in the 200 block of Maple Drive when two men allegedly shot a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old.

Both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were immediately rushed to a local hospital before being airlifted to Duke University Medical Center for further treatment. Thankfully, both teens are in stable condition and are expected to recover.

Authorities have arrested 26-year-old Jerome Michael Bumpass of Oxford in connection with the shooting. Bumpass faces charges including three counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
