Authorities confirm one student lost their life in North Forsyth High School Stabbing
FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. –A tragic incident unfolded Tuesday morning at North Forsyth High School, where one student died after being stabbed during an altercation on campus, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
Shortly after 11 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the school after the campus School Resource Officer needed “all hands on deck”. Officers from the Winston-Salem Police Department also responded.
During an afternoon press conference Tuesday, Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough confirmed that one student died as a result of the incident. Officials stated that the case remains an active investigation, and no additional details about the individuals involved have been released at this time.
A video circulating on social media, which authorities are currently reviewing, shows moments before the confrontation inside a school restroom.
In the footage, students appear to be gathered when a conflict begins between two individuals.
After the altercation, one student is seen leaving the area and later collapses in the hallway.
That student later succumbed to their injuries, according to officials.
Counselors and support services are expected to be made available to students and staff impacted by the tragedy.
Officials stress that there is no ongoing threat to the community, and the school is no longer on lockdown.
In response to the incident, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools directed parents to the Joel Coliseum at 2825 University Parkway for reunification and updates as law enforcement worked to secure the campus and ensure student safety.

I understand that trying to get in the middle of a fight to stop it could cause you to be harmed. I don’t understand why anyone would want to watch a human being be slaughtered and just stand there and videotape it! That’s abetting them! Get help! Contact the teachers and police! God help us all!

These children are so angry, my daughter attends North Forsyth and the young man killed today was her friend. This also happened outside of her math class where she watched her friend die. All over a vape? I can’t understand how or why these kids feel the need to harm each other. I’ve spent a lot of today just wondering why, just a split second to think. Spoke with a student who was in the same class as my daughter who said it all could have ended when the young man fall on the floor but the young man came out of the bathroom and climbed on time of him and continued to stab him. Two teenagers one life is gone and the other life is over. Praying for both families, praying for all the children who witness this, all the friends who lost a friend today. I’m sad I’ve never seen my daughter and her friends so quiet, eyes full with tears, so heart broken, so confused.
This is absolutely devastatingly Sad and disgusting. The young man, we don’t know what the story is, but maybe he was bullied. I don’t know, but coming back with a knife. There’s no excuse because it’s heard in the video that he came back so evidently there was a previous altercation he should’ve left. We should learn our kids to walk away from a fight, but they are taught in society now that that will make them appear to be weak. I would rather for my loved ones to appear weak than be dead. The young man also in the bathroom also bear some responsibility because they should’ve stopped it. They should’ve told their friends on either side. Let’s just stop it. Let’s walk away but not only did they not stop it but one actually pulled out the video and filmed it because that’s what today’s society has taught them. Do not intervene just get the film so you can post it and let it go viral so somebody can tell you manual video with viral. Society best responsibility because I don’t care what you say, and people are not gonna like this, but the rap music that glorify death and destruction in the people that put that out there become big stars and rich and famous. This is what young people see and they try to imitate everything that they see because of that age they’re impressionable. That is why you see a lot of videos that say the new trend is this it’s a trend because one person saw it and then another and then another then another and so on and so on and they just keep repeating what is popular. Deaf and destruction in our media in the form of music and videos is popular and these kids think that they will be popular if they repeat it. One young man is dead, and one young man life is ruined forever. It doesn’t matter if he gets life or not it doesn’t matter the jail sentence. His life is ruined because he will always be known by others in in his mind as a killer, a robber of a young life. They are the ones who have the ultimate responsibility, the killer, and unfortunately the victim because both could’ve just walked away, not only from this altercation, but any previous altercations that led to this altercation. Lastly, I will address the elephant in the room. All of the young man look like they were black. Now I know crying that happens and actually violent crimes happen more in the white community than it does in the black community per FBI data. But as a community forget the FBI data and address the issue that we just saw two young men surrounded by other young man of the same race fighting to the death. Nobody stops it. Nobody thought that whatever happened couldn’t be this serious and this happens over and over again, this time with a knife in the bathroom Of a school in North Carolina other times with a gun on the streets of Chicago. When will enough be enough? When will we tell those who makes millions off of this violence through music and media when Will, we tell them not in my house. Respect your community. Respect your ancestors respect what has been accomplished with so much less than what we have now. The rappers will sit back and say no to valance if they read this or when they read another young deaf that they may be close to and their community they may march they may send a donation, but they will Keep putting out the trash that leads up to this violence. Im the video, you can see a big white guy in the mirror standing there just watching. When I first saw it, I thought it could have been a teacher because he looked older, but it wasn’t a clear shot in the video and it was his reflection. In the video, it did sound like someone is egging on the fight, which absolutely makes me sick and disgust me. Nobody called for help, that can be heard in the video at least…they should all be charged for just standing around watching. I’m glad there is a video because it PROVES what happens, but it’s sad that life has so little value anymore. I don’t know what it was over, but prayers go out to the family.
It was reported one died and one was critically injured. What caused the critical injury and was it to the other person in the altercation? Was he stabbed too? I haven’t been able to find that out in any report.
It’s so weird you can look at that video and you think that the fella that went back in the bathroom is the one that had a knife that’s what I thought until I watched it over and over and I heard the guy say somebody had a knife.. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow for sure When the sheriff has a conference …. What they’re saying is the guy that was killed actually had the knife to begin with when the tall guy is bent over he bit him. And got the knife away from him. They were fighting over it…. What really bothers me is the fella that died was looking straight at his friend saying get it get it I think he knew the other guy had gotten the knife, of course, and the other guys didn’t do anything… The big football player looking guy in the mirror he could’ve went against him real hard, knocked both of them in the floor. If you watch and listen closely, the victim actually had the knife. The boy in the tan told him to drop it, or he would cut him with it. The boy in the tan then bit the other boy and got the knife away from him and stabbed him.

Respectfully, this is not true. Every school has a dress code. The issue is students do not abide by it and many times parents will argue you down for even saying something to their child about the way he or she is dressed.
