A North Carolina man, known for helping families locate missing loved ones, survived a gunshot wound to the face in an incident at his home on Friday night. In a Facebook Live video posted on Saturday afternoon, he reassured followers that he was okay.

Christopher Rhodes Shot at Home in Riegelwood

Christopher Rhodes, of Precision Search and Rescue went live on Facebook at approximately 8:55 p.m., Friday night announcing he had been shot. In the video, Rhodes explained that he noticed a vehicle outside in his yard and decided to take pictures of the license plate. However, an individual exited the vehicle and told him not to be taking photos of their license plate.

Alleged Shooter Described

According to Rhodes, moments later, a woman pulled out a gun and shot him in the face, just above his right eye. He claimed the individuals involved were of Indian descent and were driving a gray Honda Civic SUV.

At the start of the live stream, Rhodes showed blood splatter on his couch and walls before moving outside to display blood in the yard, where he said the shooting occurred. Columbus County deputies arrived on the scene, but paramedics had yet to arrive during the video.

Rhodes Shows Wound While Awaiting Medical Help

During the live video, Rhodes expressed that he was feeling weak and needed water. He pointed out where the bullet entered and where it remained lodged at the top of his head.

Rhodes stated that he sustained a laceration and gunpowder burns but did not suffer life-threatening injuries. While he chose not to share specific details about the shooting, he mentioned that a witness was present and saw everything. Rhodes expressed gratitude to law enforcement and credited God for saving his life.

During his live stream, he also addressed critics on social media, responding to negative comments and remarks about him repeating himself.
