North Carolina man charged with statutory rape in Pitt County.

A 31-year-old North Carolina man is facing serious charges after deputies say he was involved in a disturbing sexual relationship with a minor.

According to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, a tip came in back in July about a possible inappropriate relationship between an adult and a child. After investigating, detectives identified Krystopher Kelvin Andrews, 31, as the suspect.

Krystopher Kelvin Andrews, 31, is facing multiple felony charges including statutory rape of a child under 15 and first-degree kidnapping. He’s being held at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1.5M bond.

On Wednesday, authorities moved in and arrested Andrews. He’s now sitting behind bars at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1.5 million secured bond. Andrews faces first-degree kidnapping, two counts of statutory rape of a child under 15, and three counts of indecent liberties with a child.

This investigation is ongoing.
