During a Coronavirus update press conference Monday, Governor Roy Cooper said that his administration is looking into making face coverings in North Carolina mandatory.

It’s absolutely in discussion right now regarding whether we make cloth face coverings mandatory and in what way we do it, Cooper told a reporter.

Governor Cooper said he wants people to voluntarily wear face coverings but his administration is looking at additional rules to make the face coverings mandatory.

Currently, North Carolina has 45,257 positive COVID-19 cases, 29,219 recoveries from COVID-19, and 1,173 COVID-19 deaths.
