Authorities in Cincinnati have confirmed that an 11-year-old boy died and five other juveniles were injured in a shooting in the West End of the city on Friday night.

According to Cincinnati Police Chief Terri Theetge, the shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Jones Street and Wade Street.

The 11-year-old child was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victims were transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Police have not released the identity of the deceased victim or the identities and ages of the other five juveniles who were reportedly shot in the incident.

As we want to provide our communities with the most detailed information as possible, the press conference previously scheduled for this afternoon has been rescheduled for Sunday. CPD simply needs additional time to gather many more important details to this senseless tragedy,” Cincinnati Police Chief Terri Theetge said in the update Saturday.
