Motorcyclist missing for a week found dead in Durham; police reported that they received a call about a cardiac arrest

Authorities in Durham, North Carolina, are looking into a deadly motorcycle accident that led them to discover the body of 41-year-old Ira Henderson, who had been missing for approximately a week.

Family members reported that Henderson was last seen on July 23, and they became concerned when he failed to show up for work. They later found his body at the intersection of North Carolina Highway 55 and Courtney Creek Boulevard in Durham.

Cardiac arrest call

On Tuesday around 1 p.m., Durham police responded to a call regarding a cardiac arrest at that location. When they arrived, they found Henderson and a motorcycle off the road, just south of Courtney Creek Boulevard in the northbound lanes.

Last seen on Hillsborough Road 

A missing person’s flyer states that Henderson was last spotted in the 3400 block of Hillsborough Road at the time he went missing, which is about 7.3 miles from the location where his body was discovered. 
The flyer indicated that Henderson, who was missing, was riding a black and red Suzuki GSXR motorcycle with North Carolina license plate number 3M3244.

No additional information has been provided by the police.
