Money Train Brother Burnic Ratliff Arrested in South Carolina

WADESBORO, N.C. – Burnic Vidal Ratliff, the brother of popular Southern Soul artist Raphael Ratliff (better known as Money Train), is now behind bars facing three felony counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child.

According to court records and the Wadesboro, North Carolina, Police Department, the 32-year-old was arrested Monday in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The charges stem all the way back to 2021, but Wadesboro cops say they couldn’t serve the True Bill of Indictment until now.

Wadesboro Police Chief Michael Childers released a statement:

“After observing renewed community discussion surrounding an older case, our officers and investigators took a closer look into the matter. During that review, it was identified that a subject with a felony indictment had not been properly entered for extradition.

Once confirmed, the necessary steps were taken immediately to ensure the individual was entered into the system with full extradition. Through coordination with Rock Hill Police Department in South Carolina, the suspect, Burnic Vidal Ratliff, has now been taken into custody out of state.

We are currently working through the process to have him returned to North Carolina, where he will be formally served with a True Bill of Indictment for 3 counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child.”

Just hours before the cuffs came on, Burnic — who goes by “Tank Ratliff” on Facebook — posted a cryptic message that many are now reading as a direct response to the swirling rumors:

“They talked about God, spit on him, beat him, and killed him. So what do you think they’ll do to you!”

Money Train’s camp moved quick. A statement from the artists manager (and reportedly backed by Raphael himself) says Money Train is distancing himself from his brother “if these allegations are proven to be true.” The message was crystal clear:

“Raphael will full distance himself and will not stand behind or support those actions in any way.”

At the same time, according to the statement, Money Train is still sticking by his brother fully until everything plays out in court. The two had just dropped a new video for their song “Real Man” — but that video has already been yanked from all platforms following the arrest.
