A man stabbed his girlfriend to death and left her in the front passenger seat of his car in an airport garage before catching a flight to Kenya, according to the police.
Last Wednesday, police said they found the body of 31-year-old Margaret Mbitu in the front passenger seat of a car in the Central Parking Garage at the Boston Logan International Airport. They later issued a warrant for 40-year-old Kevin Kangethe, who is Mbitu’s boyfriend.
According to arrest warrants obtained by WCVB in Boston, police said they found Mbitu with large slash wounds on her face and neck, as well as a puncture wound on her side. Police said large amounts of blood were inside the vehicle, according to warrants.

Police believe Kangethe bought tickets on Tuesday, the day after Mbitu’s family reported her missing on Monday. Investigators said that surveillance video captured his movements and cell phone location in the same area.
Warrants said investigators caught Kangethe walking out of the parking garage and entering the airport, where he checked in for a flight to Kenya.
Rose Mbitu, Margaret’s mother, told local news outlets that her daughter had been trying to end her relationship with Kangethe.
Kevin Kangethe is still on the run.
