A man who triggered an amber alert early Wednesday morning last week after allegedly abducting his 9-year-old daughter has been apprehended and now faces murder charges.
The Pembroke Police Department reported that on Tuesday, officers responded to a call at a residence on Cornith Road, where they discovered two victims inside the home, both suffering from knife wounds.
The victims were identified as 46-year-old Desiree Strickland and her 18-year-old daughter, Mikayla Strickland. Despite efforts to save her, Mikayla succumbed to her injuries, while Desiree was airlifted to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
