Police say a 51-year-old man was arrested for committing an unspeakable crime against a baby.

According to the Grifton Police Department, Joseph Keene was taken into custody early Tuesday morning and charged with one count of indecent liberties with a child—a 15-month-old toddler.

Joseph Keene, a 51-year-old North Carolina resident, was charged with indecent liberties involving a toddler and is currently held in the Pitt County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Keene was booked into the Pitt County Jail, where he remains behind bars under a $100,000 secured bond.

Police have not yet released further details about the investigation, including how Keene knew the child or if any additional charges are pending.
