Parking Lot Shooting at Jacksonville Mall
It was a wild and chaotic Saturday night at the Jacksonville Mall in Jacksonville, North Carolina, when bullets rang out in the parking lot just after 8:00 p.m.—leaving three people shot and a masked gunman on the run.
According to a press release from the Jacksonville Police Department, officers were dispatched around 8:14 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, after reports of a shooting in the area of 375 Western Blvd.
When police pulled up to the scene, they found two victims with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Shortly after, they were notified a third victim had already made it to the hospital.
All three victims are currently listed in stable condition, according to the police.

Investigators say a Black man wearing a black ski mask approached the victims while they were walking through the mall parking lot—and opened fire without warning before fleeing the scene.
Now police are scrambling for answers, trying to figure out if this was targeted or random. But so far, no arrests have been made and no motive has been confirmed.
