Investigators said around 4 p.m., a man was getting a haircut when three menone identified as 20-year-old Korlon Michael Salter—entered the shop. Lieutenant Scott Owens told reporters that the group started making threats before brandishing a firearm.

The customer, who was also armed, pulled out his gun in self-defense. That’s when shots were exchanged.

Witnesses say they heard at least 50 gunshots inside the mall. Salter was hit multiple times and taken to the hospital for treatment, while the armed customer escaped unharmed after hiding in a backroom.

Police allege Caesar also fired rounds during the chaos, further escalating the situation.
