Goldsboro school bus crash sends 6 kids to the hospital after Dillard Charter Academy bus slams into low bridge
Goldsboro, NC — Total chaos occurred Thursday afternoon when a Dillard Charter Academy school bus crashed into a super-low railroad bridge, sending six terrified kids to the hospital and the driver fighting for his life after being airlifted.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. at Carolina Street and West Vine Street.
The front of the bus got completely mangled and wedged tight underneath, with nine students, the driver, and a monitor on board.
Six of the kids were rushed to UNC Health Wayne with non-life-threatening injuries, but officials say they’re hurt. The driver was choppered to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville for emergency treatment. The bus monitor’s condition is still unclear.
The crash remains under investigation.
