A welfare check at a Goldsboro mobile home ended in heartbreak after authorities discovered the body of 36-year-old Gareshia Shanta Joyner inside her residence.
On Sunday, July 21, 2025, officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a welfare call at 3201 Central Heights Road, located inside the Tanglewood Mobile Home Park.
When they arrived, they found Joyner unresponsive inside the home. Sadly, emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
Police Say Investigation Is Active
Goldsboro Police’s Investigative Services Bureau and Crime Scene Unit quickly took over the scene. Detectives collected evidence while keeping tight lips about further details, citing the sensitivity and ongoing nature of the case.
