A Fayetteville woman has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and multiple felony offenses after allegedly shooting a 15-year-old employee at a Subway restaurant in Spring Lake.
The shooting occurred on Wednesday, March 12, at the Subway located on Murchison Road.
Officers with the Spring Lake Police Department responded to the scene and discovered the teenage victim inside the restaurant suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to investigators, the shooting stemmed from an altercation between employees and a customer, which escalated to violence when the suspect fired at the young worker.
Authorities have identified the suspect as 37-year-old Alisa Jewel Reed of Fayetteville. She has been charged with the following offenses:
- Attempted First-Degree Murder
- Discharge of a Firearm into an Occupied Property
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill or Cause Serious Injury
- Assault by Pointing a Gun
- Communicating Threats

Reed is currently being held at the Cumberland County Jail under a $300,000 bond.
Spring Lake Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting. No further details about the victim’s condition or the nature of the dispute have been released at this time.
