Overhills High School student attacked
A disturbing incident at Overhills High School in Harnett County, North Carolina, has sparked outrage after a student was attacked by a group of girls while in a classroom. The victim’s father, Marcus Walker, shared the shocking video and his frustrations in a now-viral Facebook post.
According to Walker, the incident took place earlier this week and involved at least five girls assaulting his son while he tried to defend himself without retaliating. The video, which has been shared across social media, shows Walker’s son being jumped by multiple female students, with one girl in pink pants hitting him with a phone.
“NOT ONCE DID HE THROW A PUNCH BUT SHOVED THEM AWAY,” Walker wrote. “IF HE HAD, IT WOULD HAVE JUST CONFIRMED THE STEREOTYPE OF A BLACK MAN BEING AGGRESSIVE, RESULTING IN HIM BEING LOCKED UP AND LABELED.”
Walker says after the incident, his son was pulled into a conference room by the principal to give a statement, while the students who attacked him were allegedly allowed to roam the halls freely.
“THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE,” Walker continued. “I AM READY TO FIGHT FOR MY SON’S DIGNITY AND SAFETY. I REFUSE TO ALLOW THIS BEHAVIOR TO GO UNNOTICED.”
Walker added that his son, who is an athlete and trains hard daily, does not resort to violence and was trying to get away.
In the comments under his post, Walker shared a photo of his son’s injuries, which included a swollen eye and visible scratches from the attack.
Another girl was seen in the video grabbing a computer in an apparent attempt to strike the boy, but did not follow through. A teacher in the classroom appeared to be on the phone, possibly calling for assistance during the incident.

Walker confirmed that charges have been filed against the students involved.
The North Carolina Beat reached out to Overhills High School for a statement. As of now, there has been no official response from school officials or Harnett County Schools.

I am in Overhill high school Alumni, I went to all the schools around there from Anderson Creek to there. I’m class of 2013 Now, when I went to school with this would’ve happened, the teachers would’ve been right there, stopping at breaking it up the fact that the teacher didn’t do it makes me question. What the heck is going on at that school now
I think she was scared of getting punched. These kids were going hard. I’m a substitute teacher and I too would have let the officer handle it. They have law enforcement in the schools.

I don’t care what was said , when you result to putting your hands on someone that’s a problem! If he said he was go hit them but never did , they had no right to to put their hands on this boy, talk is cheap and people need to teach their kids that words with no follow through is worthless! My kids know let them talk but when they put their hands on you the score has been upped! As a parent of all girls, i would be embarrassed! Now they go have charges!

SO, this young man had been bullying these girls for weeks! No i am not the mother of them. My child goes to this school. And this day he again said he would hit them. And he did (the video shows just a part of it) the one girl hit back and the others helped because he threw her around. The sub teacher did nothing aside from saying open the door. The issue is the school has no teachers my daughter is a Sr and out of all her classes she has one! And one sub. Some classes are left with no guidance at all. Students have no ID to get into the school and are just buzzed in! So any child looking kid can gain access to the school. Bypassing the one metal protector. Only people they keep out is the parents! It’s unsafe!!! This was a good school we were told. It’s not. And very unsafe. This proves it. So while the father is saying his son was attacked maybe they should talk with all students to see it was the young man’s ongoing harassment towards these young ladies and physical altercation that lead to this! Shame on the school

Okay your daughter is a SR at the school I guess it’s safe to assume she spends more time In the hallways and with the underclass to know what’s going on with these folks. If it’s as ruff as you claim your SR claim it is she should have been scared to say anything herself out of fear since you claim she claim it’s such a dangerous place with educators who just don’t bother showing up to class.
I pray your SR get up and outta there and the school.get to be a safer environment some people really go to school to LEARN not be fass and fighting.

That girl starting it and the girls hit him should be prosecuted. He could have really hurt them and he was nice, didn’t even do what most people are taught to do. He gave them grace, you try that in a Brooklyn school all those girls would be missing teeth and in concussion protocol. He gave them grace because he was taught to control himself. I commend that young man.
This is the result of them little SKEEZERZ seeing their single mothers get away with beating on the men in their homes without any consequences. If this was my son I would tell him to knock their asses out next time.
