According to the Palm Beach police, 70-year-old Sally Gore reported that she and her husband returned home after dinner on Friday to find that their dog had run away due to an open gate. She told the Palm Beach police that she and her husband agreed to look for the dog while she stayed in the car.
Shortly after Gore’s husband got out of the car, Gore reversed out of the driveway and drove around the neighborhood block to search for their dog. When she returned, her neighbor stopped her and Gore observed that her husband was motionless onthe road.
Gore told the police that she had consumed two glasses of wine and had no recollection of colliding or feeling that she had hit anything, as reported by the Palm Beach police. Investigators said that Gore’s speech was slurred and her eyes were bloodshot. She took a breathalyzer test, and the results came back as 0.120, which is above the legal limit.
Investigators said that when they arrived, they found Gore’s husband near the couple’s driveway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
