Chud The Builder, whose real name is Dalton Eatherly, is in custody after authorities say he shot a man outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville, Tennessee.
“Chud the Builder”, whose real name is Dalton Eatherly, known for calling Black people the N-Word on his livestreams allegedly shot a man during a confrontation outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville, Tennessee.
According to preliminary reports from authorities, the 28-year-old racist was at the courthouse around 1:15 p.m. for a scheduled civil court appearance connected to a debt collection lawsuit when things allegedly got out of control in nearby Millennium Plaza.
Witnesses claim an argument broke out between Eatherly and another man before the situation turned to a shooting.
One witness alleged the confrontation escalated after Eatherly reportedly made provocative comments, including references to “chimp out” behavior. Moments later, the unidentified man allegedly punched Eatherly, and investigators say Eatherly then pulled out a firearm and opened fire.
Authorities say the victim was struck in the stomach.
During the shooting, Eatherly also allegedly grazed himself in the arm.
The victim was rushed from the scene by LifeFlight helicopter and is reportedly in stable condition. Eatherly, who suffered a graze wound and abrasions to his head, was treated at the scene before being transported by ambulance.
He remains in custody as investigators continue reviewing what happened.
Montgomery County District Attorney General Robert Nash confirmed Eatherly was the shooter.
On a livestream reportedly recorded during or shortly after the incident, Eatherly claimed he acted in self-defense.
“He hit me, he started wailing on me,” Eatherly allegedly said during the livestream. “Even after I had to defend myself by shooting him, he’s still wailing on me.”
Eatherly has become widely known online for posting confrontational “rage-bait” livestreams and videos on social media platforms, where he frequently approaches strangers — often Black individuals — while allegedly using racial slurs, monkey noises, and inflammatory language designed to provoke reactions.
The streamer has repeatedly referred to himself online as a “free speech patriot.”
This latest incident comes just days after Eatherly was arrested in Nashville following another controversial livestream incident at Bob’s Steak & Chop House inside the Omni Nashville Hotel.
Authorities in that case accused him of harassing restaurant staff with racially charged comments while livestreaming, refusing to leave the property, and allegedly failing to pay a bill totaling nearly $400.
He reportedly faces charges in that case including disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and theft of services.
The investigation remains ongoing.
