The Incident: Argument Escalates to Violence
According to court documents, Briddell became involved in an argument with her son during their visit to a relative’s home. During the altercation, Briddell grabbed a pair of scissors and slashed her son’s face. The wound inflicted on the young boy was complex and severe, requiring plastic surgery to repair the damage.

Following the attack, Briddell was arrested and charged with intentional child abuse resulting in serious injury and assault with a deadly weapon. On Monday, December 9, a jury found Briddell guilty of assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury to her son.
