The 22-year-old man accused of gunning down Conservative MAGA activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University has been identified as Tyler Robinson—a once-promising student now at the center of a national assassination case.
Authorities say Tyler Robinson allegedly pulled the trigger during a packed rally where Charlie Kirk, 31, was addressing a large crowd. The fatal shot rang out while Kirk was mid-speech at Utah Valley University.
Robinson is now in custody after what sources call a “family intervention.” According to TMZ and People, the 22-year-old refused to turn himself in, but his father and a local youth pastor stepped in and contacted authorities. He was eventually found at his father’s home—still wearing parts of the outfit caught on rooftop surveillance video.

Sources told TMZ that Robinson voiced violent opinions toward Charlie Kirk during a family gathering. He had reportedly become more radical and hateful in recent months. His social behavior shifted drastically, worrying loved ones. Yet oddly enough – Robinson wasn’t always this way. He had a 4.0 GPA in high school, $32,000 national scholarship to Utah State University, and was listed as “unaffiliated” in political party registration.

Reportedly Robinson confessed and told his father that he killed Kirk. He was caught wearing similar clothes seen on FBI-released rooftop footage. Bullet markings had inscriptions including “Bella ciao” (an anti-fascist anthem) and “Hey fascist, catch.”
